A standard Telecaster® control plate drilled for Volume and Tone pots, and a standard switch. Plated to the highest standard with a conductive material to minimise the amount of ground wires you’ll need.
The Telecaster® control plate has been a source of frustration for many years when it comes to upgrades and replacement parts.
The main bone of contention is the varying specs that appear not only on true telecasters, but also on imports and home builds, which then dictate the dimensions and placement of the Pickguard. There doesn’t seem to be a hard and fast rule, but it’s simply a job of measuring to find out which spec fits you’re guitar.
Spec 2 is 32mm at the widest point, meaning that it is only compatible Spec 2 pickguards for a flush fit, or Spec 1 as a modification to give a small gap between plate and pickguard; it is also drilled to 9.5mm on the pot holes, allowing the use of Alpha or CTS pots.
