I believe that the quality of the industry standard CTS has fallen slightly in recent years and the quality of the Alpha pots has risen to match them. The main difference now is that the 'standard' log curve for CTS is 10% of value at half rotation. For Alpha its 15%.

These pots are a great cost effective part for a repair or upgrade project. The curve of the log pots might be a little sharp for a lot of tastes, but as a volume pot user I love them as they give me great control of drive and volume letting me switch between clean and distorted tones with a slight twist of the knob.
