Double the Deluxe - Double the Style!

We're really pleased to announce our brand new line of Vintage styled machine heads - starting off with the exceptional Double Deluxe series!

Built to that timeless formula, with a 14:1 gearing, nut and washer mounting and moulded tulip heads , these are ideal replacements for most Kluson® or Gibson® Machine head with the same fitting system, or as a “vintage modification” to many Epiphone®

Stylistically, we’ve gone for a very simply design all round, a no bells and whistles approach – just like you’d expect from a machine head built in this timeless style.

The engraving on the rear of the tuner is in the iconic striping, and two wider stripes off centre sporting “DELUXE” etched in a plain font – no “Axesrus® ” branding anywhere to be seen, so they’re absolutely ideal to be used by Luthiers as well as anyone just looking to fix up their old Les Paul® or SG®! Nothing turns us off faster than garish, in your face branding on parts and whilst we live and breathe Axesrus here in the offices – we don’t expect you to be walking billboards for the brand, so we like to keep things neutral on the style front and let quality and reliability of the parts do the advertising for themselves.

The tulip heads, again, are clean and crisp – single build – with only the one “ring” around the case – cast from green nitrate plastic. These are going to age up exactly how you expect nitrate to, over the coming decades of use they’ll significantly darken up, they’ll check and haze – in 30 years’ time, they’ll look 30 years old! You just don’t get that natural patina with the cheaper versions on the market which use a PVC for the heads.

Kluson® is a registered trademark all over Europe of Dieter Gölsdorf & Gibson®, SG®, Les Paul® & Epiphone® are a tradmark of Gibson® Guitar Corp, and Axesrus® make no claims to any claim to these marks.

Tech Talk
The Double Deluxe line represent that classic machine head, and stick pretty closely to the designs you'll have seen on most Gibson® Guitars today.

However, one thing to be aware of when replacing similar looking, cheaper machine heads – The Double Deluxe are the real deal, and are built to a very high standard, as such they have a much chunkier housing and mounting system. As a result, the will only fit onto a headstock with a 10mm bore hole, whilst many cheaper machine heads, and as a result, guitars, will be tailored to fit an 8.5mm hole.

No fancy locking mechanisms or high ratio gearing here either, when we say these things are vintage, we mean it!

These Machine Heads are the best I have ever fitted to a guitar ( and I have fitted hundreds). Incredibly stable tuning and beautifully made. Amazing value for money.

5 of 5 Really great tuners, bargain price. July 24, 2018
Reviewer: John Roberts from Wolverhampton, West Midlands United Kingdom
I have used these tuners twice now, most recently to replace the Min-eTune system on my 2013 Gibson SG. They were a direct replacement fit with no modification and they have transformed the guitar. I also used a set of these tuners to upgrade a guitar I imported from China as an experiment. You can see the installation process at https://bedlamguitars.wordpress.com/fitting-sealed-tuners/ . My headstock came with 8mm holes so it wasn’t a bolt-on modification, but I’m a guitar maker so I have the right tools to ream the holes out. If your guitar already has the larger 10mm holes in the headstock these tuners are definitely the way forward. They are solidly built, rock steady and a massive improvement over the wobbly tuners that come with most import guitars. I don't know who makes these tuners, but they are comparable with the Schaller and Tonepros tuners I've used on other guitars.

5 of 5 Excellence at a great price November 21, 2016
Reviewer: Darren Stephens from Croydon, Surrey .United Kingdom
Got a set of these to replace the Steinberger tuners on a Gibson Future Tribute.
The weight and quality is apparent from opening the box, however they are an exact match, size and colour of keys to my Gibson Les Paul Studio!
These are such a bargain!
Highly recommended

5 of 5 Axesrus tuners. May 5, 2016

I've used Klusons, Gotohs, Grovers and i have to say, these are up there with the big names. They are smooth in operation and hold tuning rock solid. Why pay big money when you can have this sort of quality at a much more realistic price.
