This track is a slow swung jazzy blues turnaround in 6/8. It would have been easy to go down the clichéd twelve bar I, IV, V route, but we felt like it was possible to tick another box and feature some jazz textures. The modulations and use of extensions within the chord progression are something that would be more associated with jazz than blues, but the groove, the movement of the bass, and the recurring theme of the mixolydian mode in the lead part helps to retain a predominantly bluesy vibe.
